I was thinking about motivation this morning while listening to an interview with @brendonburchard on @lewishowes podcast called The School of Greatness.

You’re looking to stay “Motivated” with something in your life.

The truth of the matter is that nobody can motivate you in life. You CAN be inspired to change or move your life in a different direction but so many people get a dream or a new vision for their life and then stop after a short amount of time.

This may be you and I feel blessed to share what I can with you this morning.

When your motivation dies, it’s not because your dream died. It’s because you never began or didn’t sustain any REAL effort.

I like to think of somebody that wants to run a marathon.

So what motivates them? How did they stay working toward that dream or vision of crossing the finish line?

You must FOCUS on your goals, ambitions and where you want to go in life. Some tips on how to do this are:

1. Reviewing goals each day.

2. Journaling about our dreams, goals, and desires daily.

3. Setting aside time to visualize what we want.

4. Then scheduling time to work for it.

So often in life we forget that it is HARD work and sweat working toward a meaningful pursuit that makes us feel truly alive . Nothing will bring motivation alive more than consistent HARD WORK which results in momentum and personal fulfillment.

One of my mentors Brenden says, “Let it be clear to all: Greatness belongs to those who have mastered the ability to focus relentlessly on their ambitions and act decisively toward them.”

So as you move forward with your goals this week, don’t let the distractions around you sway you from your dreams. Stay focused on the finish line and where you want to be, visualize it, and move forward with relentless ambition focusing on what you want instead of what you don’t want.

Remember that just like a marathoner, you don’t just end up one day at the finish line.

You visualize daily how it will feel to cross that finish line and then you plan out and schedule the hard work, sweat, and tears you must face on the daily to bring that to pass.
