Not Comfortable in Bathing Suit

Melissa Powell

I want to share some of my thoughts this morning with hopes that it may help with one of you that may be struggling with resentment, hurt, anger, or fear.  You see this blog post it titled “Not comfortable in bathing suit” but I had an overwhelming impression of  “SELF LOVE” as I started to share this transformation of my friend Melissa.   Becoming comfortable in bathing suit is going to come through your own self love.

I have seen and experienced firsthand in my life “unconditional love” and want to share a little.  We tend to harbor these non-progressive feelings inside and they do US more harm than they do to the person we feel they are intended for.  Too often we say that we love unconditionally but do we really? To love somebody unconditionally we must first LOVE ourselves in that manner.

STEP 1: Do we first unconditionally LOVE ourselves? Do we speak to ourselves and look at ourselves as GOD sees us? Do we think and take actions in a way that help us to be the best version of ourselves?

STEP 2: Once we can do that, then we can unconditionally love others. I think this is where some of us fall short as well.

I would forgive them but…..
I would love them if…..
I would support them but….
I would love them but they don’t love me back.

You see. That is CONDITIONAL LOVE. Unconditional is making a decision to love them NO MATTER WHAT. When you love somebody you do everything in your power to help them become the best version of themselves. You make the decision, no matter what past hurt or offense they may have caused you to LOVE THEM as God Loves each and every one of us.

This is where the magic of LOVE begins to happen. Here’s the hard part, you are to do it whether they choose to do it back to you or not. But this is where real self love and peace are stemmed. In following this example of our Savior

I started my Fitness  journey because I was embarrassed about how much weight I had put on, I was in good shape previously but lost my way. I had a trip coming up to Cuba and I was not comfortable in bathing suit. I saw a friend post about a challenge group and I made a leap of faith and committed to myself, my first round of 21 Day Fix I lost 20lbs and 17″ and I was hooked! I can’t believe how much more energy I have now, I used to have to have a nap after work but not anymore. I don’t find healthy living hard to do, because it’s worth it to feel this good, it just comes natural now. I love the community of friends and supporters I have with my beachbody family and couldn’t see my life any other way, Beachbody has changed my life in so many ways, it’s my just about weight loss it’s about gaining confidence, being comfortable in your own skin and learning to embrace your flaws and love yourself unconditionally! I just don’t have the words to describe how awesome life is now compared to before I started these programs!”
