Acceptance- How to find Happiness

Acceptance

Have you ever felt frustrated, restless, angry, and anxious over things that are completely outside of your control? I think about this as I see people upset at delayed flights and in myself sometimes in relationships with people important in my life. When we do this we are wrestling with not only the moment, but the entire universe. Whatever happened is usually the culmination of every moment leading up to it. I need to give this reminder to myself tonight and also hope that it helps you in whatever you may be going through in life in this current moment.

Stop fighting it

Stop resisting it

The moment or situation is exactly as it should be. Surrender yourself to it and immerse yourself into it.

AcceptanceWhen you become angry or defensive and you are struggling with the moment, your life and who you are, you will meet resistance. When you are critical or judgmental, you’ll meet resistance. When you take away responsibility for yourself, actions, and emotions, you’ll meet resistance. When you blame others for your situation in life, you’ll meet resistance. When you refuse to live in the moment, you WILL meet resistance.

Who likes resistance? GEEZ, I sure as heck don’t like it. We have to learn to accept all of these (trial) moments in life and use them as character building moments.

When you can live in the moment, acceptance is the wisdom to take people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur, rather than trying to force our agendas and opinions on them. When we can accept that, we begin to truly LIVE! Acceptance will free you, it sets you free to live in the moment

top_beachbody_coachesBefore becoming a Team Beachbody Coach I fought my entire life for acceptance.  The only problem with that is it always seemed to be in unhealthy ways.  Have you ever tried to fit in and lowered your standards?  It was on the Elite Top 10 Trip to Italy when I was able to sit with the CEO Carl Daikeler and share with him that I felt like I was finally somewhere in life where I fit in and feel accepted.  What he said to me made a big impact, “It’s not that you feel like you fit in, it’s that you have found a place that you can be completely YOURSELF and you accepted in that way.”  I love that through this company as I have learned to be MYSELF, we have attracted in these amazing coaches and team members that are all striving to become the best versions of themselves.
