Conscious about my Body
Krystoffer A. Strong
When you are open about your life and stop worrying about what others think about you, you begin to attract amazing people into your life. I openly share how I had poor self esteem throughout my life and how my P90X transformation and helping others began to help me grow in a way of loving myself and finding joy in helping and serving others. Krys and I started our transformations in 2011 and I want to give him a shout out for what he has done and hope to inspire you out there who feel like we used to feel, “being conscious about my body.”

“All my life, I’ve been the skinny kid. Active, yes, but skinny. Although I didn’t ever quite take to heart what people would say about me, subconsciously It affected me. I got nicknames and little digs based off of my frame (and with my last name being Strong, that played into it as well). I’ve always been conscious about my body and exposing it. You’d never catch me with a shirt off and even to this day I’m still like that, largely. Self esteem has been a long battle for me in my life.
In addition, since finishing high school, life has been difficult. I’ve felt like a failure for having lack of direction, struggling with motivation, consistently not being able to finish things above average, and the like.
I started working out in Sept. 2011 (the time of the first picture, upper left) when I started P90X. It seemed like a great opportunity to stay active (post-high school) and stay in shape. Plus the physical challenge intrigued me. I started P90X and failed to complete it all the way through, but it had me hooked. It gave me structure to workout and was fun. I did other programs afterward. At that point I didn’t want to look back.
These pictures are of my 4 year transformation at the time (2015). This post though, is from my 5 year mental transformation, more importantly. Working out has given me a confidence I’ve struggled to have throughout my life. Confidence to be me, confidence with my body, and confidence in my ability to meaningfully impact the lives of others and contribute something good to society. And now, I believe I can help change the lives of others who may struggle with that confidence as well.
You can change your body for the better, if you want. You can become more healthy and active. You can do whatever you set your mind to. All you have to do is decide, commit, and succeed.
If you are out of are skinny like I was and want to be fit and strong, you can be. If you are out of shape and want to be active, you can be. If you’ve put on too much weight over the years and want a change, you can find it.
