I haven’t really known how to post about this but I want to talk about it tonight. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Tonight I posted a quote that says, “To be inspired is great, to inspire is incredible” 

I am the guy that always struggled with self esteem. If you know me and if it seems like I am always 100% committed to something in life it’s because I spent my life trying to fit in. In order to fit in as a teenager I would spend HOURS mastering things so that I could feel accepted. Playing the bass, flipping with a snowboard, jumping trash cans with my skateboard, and many other things. In my early 20’s unfortunately I tried to “fit in” by drinking a TON and doing drugs. Those were my lowest points in life. Honestly when I think back, I did it to fit in and be accepted. It was very unhealthy.

When I found Team Beachbody we were struggling financially and I really needed a way to help my family have more time together and to get me from working so many overtime hours. As I began to help people before becoming an official coach I can TRULY say that I felt that I “fit in” I wanted to be the BEST at coaching so that I could be accepted and “fit in”. So the financial struggle combined with the feeling of acceptance that I was searching for I gave Team Beachbody coaching MY ALL. I gave it 100%. I decided I would never quit and that if I tried my hardest to help others daily, I was successful.

So WHY am I sharing this? It is because of these coaches that we were the #4 team in the company. I was sitting at a lunch in Italy last summer with the CEO of Team Beachbody, and I remember clearly as if it were yesterday telling him that I felt like I finally found a place where I can fit in, in a healthy manner. He gave me this stern look and said, “Scottie that is not true. If you feel like you fit in, you will always be searching for the next thing where you feel like you fit in. I believe what you you mean to say is that you finally have a place where you can be YOURSELF and that inspires others.”

I can’t say it enough, I LOVE what I do as a TEAM BEACHBODY coach. It has changed my life in more ways than I can count. Physically, mentally, and spiritually.

One thing that I did with Gabby before we became coaches was to save every spare dime we had to take ONE TRIP per year together as a couple. I would work side-jobs and overtime to save the money in a shoebox to take this trip with her. We would go on the CHEAPEST cruise we could find online once a year. We would have to go at whatever date was the lowest price and we spent NO money on excursions.

As we have been living out our purpose and setting new goals and dreams we have been wanting to do this for awhile. I have been hesitant to talk about it but many people have asked since they know we are going to the DR. My goal is to live a life of continually GROWTH and CONTRIBUTION. So WHY not contribute to those that have HELPED us get to the place that we are at in our life right now in our business. These people are our diamond coaches and leaders. We decided to take all of our Diamond coaches and a guest on a trip to an all-inclusive resort to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and we leave Sunday night.

We have a group where we have been talking about dinner reservations, the activities, the forecasted rain, and what THEY want to get out of this experience and something stuck out to me that I want THEM to all understand. I read where some of our leaders feel like that don’t “deserve” to be amongst such great leaders on this trip. Isn’t it unique how we attract people who are just like US? Where we feel like we don’t FIT IN? I am excited to get to know each one of these coaches on a more personal level. I am excited to help them expand their vision for their life and the contribution they can give to this world. I am excited to mastermind with them and come up with better strategies for our team in 2016. I am excited to grow our relationships as friends and business partners. I am excited to show them how much I appreciate them in our lives. I am excited to help them understand that they are WORTH IT and that they have GREATNESS WITHIN THEM.

Never in a MILLION years could we have imagined providing a trip for our team and leaders like this one. I owe it all to God for bringing each one of these amazing coaches into our lives and to THEM for finding their purpose in life and for GIVING their hearts and passion to helping others live a healthier more fulfilling lifestyle.
