Most Rewarding Years Of My Life | ScottieHobbs.com

Here is a little throw back to a couple of the hardest yet most rewarding years of my life. I was a missionary in Venezuela. This is where I truly learned to love and serve others and understand that I can do hard things. Imagine eating foods you are not used to, drinking water that your stomach was not accustomed to, walking in 100 degree weather 12 hours a day, not being able to even hug a female ( I was 19 years old), getting rejected day in and day out searching for somebody that needed to hear your message, and sharing the gospel in a language that you are learning while amongst the people. It was so hard but If I could do it again, I would.

It was here I learned discipline and hard work without being paid. I learned to use a calendar and schedule out my days, I learned to set appointments and show up to them, I learned how to go to bed daily at 10:00 and be awake by 6:00 am to pray and do scripture study with a companion. I learned how to love companions even though many times we had different opinions and personalities. I learned how to have faith combined with works to see an end result. I am forever grateful for my parents encouraging me from my youth to serve a mission.
