What if I fail
I just messed up BIG time
This little guy is just one month old. In an online health and fitness business that I run online, I mentor others to grow into leaders and entrepreneurs. We set up a 60 day training series with some of the TOP leaders in our team including a few entrepreneurs that are not Team Beachbody Coaches. Well last week I had Sagi Kalev the creator of Body Beast scheduled to talk to us about Leadership and Personal Growth.
Here is the problem. When the webinar was supposed to start which I was in charge of hosting at 6:00 Central time came to pass, I was dead asleep in my bed with this little guy Malik. I had fallen asleep at 3:30 while laying with him and woke up at 6:15 central. Gabby had a pre-planned girls night date and headed out the door and I went to the kitchen and began making dinner with my older daughters thinking that I had about 45 minutes till the webinar started.
I picked up my phone to set myself an alarm and I have texts from some of my leaders and also from Sagi. Are we on? It’s 6 Central right? The link isn’t working.
MOTHER….. FLOWER…..
So I immediately upload the slides and put the presentation up and we go on as planned but just 20 minutes late. I wasted precious time from my friend and leaders lives. Earlier that day I sent reminders to Sagi and Barbie about the time we would go on. Sagi left a meeting 15 minutes early to ensure he was ON TIME to come serve and teach us on this webinar to develop leaders. Time is the one thing that you can’t get back. Official Sagi Kalev and Barbie Kalev go on to do an AMAZING webinar Q&A that inspired many of our coaches to stand in their power and realize that THEY ARE THE ONE. They are chosen to make a difference and to lead others to a healthier more fulfilling lifestyle.
This little guy sat in my arms during the webinar and my 8 year old made dinner for and fed the other 3 kids while this training went on.
So what is the moral of this story? We all make mistakes. We all mess up. What if I fail? You don’t have to be perfect to make genuine connections with people as you strive to build a brand or a business. In these moments as you grow into a leader, and you face these failures that are sure to happen, you can choose to think less of yourself or choose to think of yourself less. Today I will strive to be better. Today I will ask for forgiveness and work on becoming 1% better than I was yesterday.
