I believe the single biggest thing that 95% of you are doing wrong is this. You buy too much dumb shit. It’s causing you stress. You work overtime constantly. You have the debt constantly weighing on your mind that you can’t truly live. You put having material possessions on a pedestal. You think “owning” some of these “things” will bring you happiness but let me tell you my friend. It won’t make you happy.
I was thinking about this the other day when somebody came to visit that knows we have a thriving business with Beachbody and very successful vacation rentals. They said, “Don’t you think it’s about time to upgrade that truck?”, “Why haven’t you moved into a bigger house and gotten more land?”
Coronavirus is not the epidemic. The great epidemic of our days is that you’re buying stuff to impress other people. Stop buying cars, houses, and clothes to impress people that you don’t even like. I get to say this because I lived it for the past 15 years. I have an immigrant wife who knows the value of working hard and being frugal and my parents taught me to save. We worked our faces off and saved that money to where we could invest in vacation rental homes that can entirely pay our bills without a Beachbody business. And still today all the clothes we wear come from Ross because we don’t need to impress anybody with designer clothes and sneakers. I won’t fly first class and we’ll never spend more than $70 eating out with a family of 7. You don’t need six figures. You need to be happier with LESS stuff. Work hard at your job and pay off your debts. Find a side hustle that aligns with your passions and use that to invest wisely AND help you pay off those debts.
