How and Why did I get started: Before starting 21 Day Fix Extreme I had not completed another Beachbody program. When I began the program physically and emotionally I was ready for a new challenge. I wanted something that would show me what a competition lifestyle nutrition regime would be like without having to pay a personal trainer or dietitian to help me. I already ate clean and healthy, but I needed something to show me portion size and when I should be eating. I chose 21 Day Fix Extreme because it gave me the insight on nutrition I wanted for a competition ready body. I had tried out 21 Day Fix, but loosely and had great success with it. Naturally, I wanted to see if Extreme was what they say, extreme.
Once I started and began to see results I kept going. I wanted to see how far I could push myself. I did 3 rounds of Extreme which in all honesty were 3 nineteen day rounds with a weekend break between so I could have some cheat meals.
How do you feel now vs when you began: When I started I was not confident that I could finish a challenge like this. Losing weight has always been a challenge for me. I am not a big person to start with but my body hangs on to weight which is frustrating when you have fitness goals. I never thought that I could have a 6 pack. I proved myself wrong. When I started I was determined, but had low confidence and I truly did not believe in myself. Now I know that whatever fitness goals I have can be a reality. When I finished my third round of Extreme I never felt better about my body. I wore shorts and did not think twice about it! My confidence was high and I was a better person for everyone around me.
Why will you continue your journey and Help others: I will continue my journey to better myself and my body as well as motivate others to do the same. Beachbody has so many programs that are good for all levels of fitness.
I have introduced many Beachbody products to others, but Fix and Extreme are the most popular for my challengers. In all my challenges I have had anywhere from 2 people to twelve. Each group has done amazing! I have seen hundreds of pounds and inches lost. Right now I have a girl who has made Fix a lifestyle and is about to hit her 40lb mark!
21 Day Fix Extreme literally changed my life. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that spread to his bones and brain. We thought that radiation and chemo were helping, but we were wrong. At the end of my third Extreme round my dad’s health took a drastic turn. He was my best friend and we talked every day. He watched me as I went through each round and watched me become stronger and lift more. I am thankful that I found a program that I not only change my life but it helped me at the end of my dad’s. That last week of his life I had the strength to carry him and take care of him. That is not something that three months prior I could have done.
My advice to everyone is that you do not need an event to get fit for. You do not need an excuse like getting married or passing a fitness test. Do not wait until the doctor tells you are diabetic and do not wait for the day you can no longer pick up your child. The biggest motivation you should have, the biggest event that you should plan for is life itself. You never know when you are going to be needed and it is your job to be in the best health that you possibly can. Be a good example for those around you. Each person has the amazing ability to inspire those around them, so go out and be that inspiration.
My dad was an amazing role model when it came to fitness. My fiance and him bonded over lifting and if he had not become sick he would have been at my fiance’s first physique show. I hope to do my first show next year in his memory.
