Over the past fews days you may have seen #IAMTEAMBEACHBODY passing through cyber space. If you haven’t clicked on the hashtag I want to encourage you to check it out! Even to this day I get nervous about sharing or oversharing my story, but because this movement means so much to me I want to take part. 💗
The photo to the left was taken at my first bodybuilding competition. That is where I met my coach Scottie Hobbs for the first time and that is when my life began to drastically change. A few months before scottie and I became friends I recently dropped out of college, walked away from a cheer scholarship, felt stuck and impaired due to the consumption of alcohol and drugs. I was working at a gentlemen’s club as a “dancer” on the weekends and a waitress during the week. I was floating through life during that time and I didn’t begin to make any serious changes until I found out my grandma had passed away. Ironic how that seems to happen. After my grandmas passing I decided to begin training for a fitness competition so I could feel like I was apart of something healthy and positive rather than toxic.
I set my intentions out in the world and low and behold Beachbody was lead into my life. When Scottie first approached me about the coaching opportunity I brushed it off. After a couple weeks we actually met up in person and he shared with me his story and reason for being a part of this team culture. After listening to how his story and influence has helped thousands of people I knew I could not walk away from this opportunity. When I signed up as a coach it was as if I finally declared my Major in college. That was the sureness I received. I KNEW this is what part of my life calling was. In the midst of how out of control my life STILL was I felt as if THIS was the answer to help me TAKE ACTION and CHANGE.
Since becoming a coach I have been 100% sober for almost 2 years, I have graduated from Aveda with my Master Esthetic license, I am learning to love myself more each day, I found God again, and the love of my life. Most importantly, I have been able to help over 100 people with their own journey of health and self love since becoming a coach. I think THAT is the most powerful part about this opportunity. There are SO many people suffering from some sort of health ailment, insecurity, anxiety, or financial burden and THIS can be the answer to someone’s prayer. I know it was for me personally.
