Losing Weight
It seems that everyone I meet wants to start losing weight but it’s just hard to find the motivation. Often times it’s not the “motivation” but the lack of a decision and a simple plan or routine to follow every day! The accountability of a coach or friend is often one of the many times missing ingredients to making a long and lasting change to a healthy lifestyle. Today I want to spotlight my friend Melissa is is losing weight and feeling empowered to take on more challenges in her life.
“I started with Beachbody and Scottie as my coach because I was tired of feeling like I just wasn’t myself anymore. I had been pretty active – until the kids came along. Between home and work, I felt like I didn’t have time for me anymore. Eating became a way to de-stress…and I gained almost 30 lbs (hello, nine-month preggo weight, lol).
Working out had always made me feel better, and I wanted that feeling back. Losing weight was a big part of it, too, but I didn’t want that to be my only focus – I just wanted to move towards a more healthy lifestyle for all of us. I didn’t want to be obsessed over a scale, but I definitely wanted to be obsessed with my workouts. So the 80 Day Obsession seemed like the right place to start. I loved that it was a different workout every day, and that I could do them from home. And that they were HARD WORK.
By the end, I lost almost 20 lbs, I signed up for my first 10 km race, and I can almost do a real pushup. I feel amazing! Eating well is still a big struggle for me at times, but I am a million miles away from where I started and I know I have Beachbody to thank for that. The workouts keep me motivated to continue moving in the right direction, and I am never looking back.”
