Work In Progress
Amy Burton
One thing that I want you to understand is that we are all a work in progress. We are NEVER at the end destination as our choices in life will either move us forward and help us grow, or they will move us backward and take us further from our potential. I get asked all the time. “Scottie, I would like to be a part of Team Beachbody and become a coach but would would look to me for advice? I am nowhere near my goal weight yet.” We are all a work in progress and from what I have seen over the past 7 years and coaching thousands of people, you are most relatable when you are IN THE JOURNEY.
“I found Beachbody by accident. Or actually, I think it was a God thing. I did not know my coach. We connected on FB and the next thing I knew she was asking if I wanted to try it and i was like “why not”. I had tried most everything else. What if this WAS it? What if this could help me? I was tired of looking in the mirror and being unhappy with what I saw. I honestly felt I was an awesome person but that my weight was the only thing I was not in control of. I had a successful career as a nurse practitioner. Honestly, though, how could I help people be healthy when I was not healthy myself? Something needed to change and I decided to try. Again.
Now, I feel I KNOW health is attainable no matter where you start or how far you have to go. I’m still a work in progress. I still struggle at times with staying on track; however, now I know that roadbumps do not equal stop signs. I will never quit fighting for me, which is something I had stopped doing for so long. I’m a care giver by trade and so it’s so easy to pour out into others leaving nothing for yourself. These days, I push for self care first always. It’s not selfish. It’s essential. That was a major breakthrough for me.
I will never stop because I know my self worth. I know I deserve the best me. And I also know that MY best may not be the same as YOUR best and that’s totally OK! My husband and kids deserve the best wife/mom. My patients deserve a provider that understands the “hard” and is willing to fight alongside them to help them achieve optimal health. Im a heckuva cheerleader! I want to inspire others to never stop fighting for themselves. Life is meant to be amazing. Do not let feel of failure (again) ever hold you back from trying. Breakthroughs happen when you least expect it! Hold on. There is help out there. I promise.
