Hilary - Will P90X and Shakeology work for me?

Hilary – Tell us about your life before you started the program.

How did you feel about yourself and your body? I started at 180 lbs in 2004 before having kids.  I got as big as 225 lbs in 2005 while pregnant with my first child.  I thought, well, I’m young, I can eat whatever I want, I’m pregnant I have an excuse, and I will just lose it again afterwards.  I am a mother of 3 with my youngest now turning 2 in January.  I did actually manage to lose most of my baby weight each time, but never all and each pregnancy just made me a little bigger and bigger until I finally was stuck after my 3rd baby at 185 lbs. and couldn’t lose much more on my own.  I always felt fat, and ugly and unpretty and always compared myself to every other person out there and got depressed and fell into a downward spiral of unhealthy spurts of not eating to binging and feeling guilty and unhappy.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey? My husband decided in Jan. 2011 to start losing weight and joined a gym and committed himself to running, and working out and started getting smaller and smaller.  He has also transformed from over 260 lbs to 167 lbs.  🙂  Finally I was like, I am a swim instructor and am in the water everyday, I can workout too!  So I started swimming and we both started eating healthier, drinking more water, and started losing the weight.  Then my coach Becky told me about Shakeology and we started with the cleanse and broke through our plateau.  From there, we have continued to get healthier and more fit day by day!  I have become a coach and inspired others as well and am excited to continue sharing our experience and the reality that everyone can live a healthy fit lifestyle!
 
Why did you choose the particular program? I have always been very much into eating healthy and organic.  My biggest problem was the calories and portion control.  Even if you’re eating healthy foods, if you,re eating too much you’re still going to gain weight! So when my coach mentioned Shakeology I thought it would be the perfect health drink for our lifestyles and I am always on the go and don’t have time to always cook a healthy meal!  We started with the workouts, and I swim and my husband runs, but we still are hungry for more! We plan on starting with P90X in January after I have a tonsillectomy surgery and are in no way going to stop pushing play!  Just wait til you see my husband and I in 2012… You think you can’t recognize us now?  😉
 
What in particular did you like about the program you chose? I love that I can replace any meal I need to during the day with a nutritious drink that tastes so good and yet is so healthy that it is not only my healthiest meal of the day, but my favorite as well!  I also enjoy the workouts and how great I feel afterwords.  No more guilty cheating food pleasures.  Shakeology gives me that sweet tooth satisfaction without making me feel guilty!
 
Tell us about the greatest challenge you faced. How did you overcome that challenge? I have struggled with eating disorders in my past, and have also struggled with obesity.  I have never been able to maintain a stable, healthy weight and actually feel good about myself and my body!  I am still a work in progress, but I have never felt so happy and great in my own skin, and although Shakeology wasn’t how we started our weight loss journey, It sure has been what’s kept us going for the full ride to the end!  It helps that my husband and I are doing it together also and we encourage and push each other to work harder!
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody® program. What achievements are you proud of? I have been unable to function well between work, school, homework, housework, 3 kids, lack of sleep, unhealthy eating, little exercise, lots of coffee, and more… UNTIL Shakeology!  It really truly has given me more energy, a better outlook on life, a healthier eating style, a better immune system, and I have already lost almost 10 lbs this month between the fast and a months worth of drinking shakeology, and working out almost everyday (sometimes twice a day) by either swimming, jogging or doing the awesome shakeology workouts!  I am now a healthy BMI and have come a long way… But I am no where near being done with my journey!  Keep pushing play!
